Licenses & support

Install, register, get back to work.

Everything you need to put a MadPsy plug-in on a computer and register it. If something here does not match what you see, write to us.

01Installing

Put it where your DAW looks.

Where a plug-in comes as a Windows installer, as every beta does, run it: it puts the plug-in in the standard VST3 folder and adds an uninstaller. Otherwise unzip the download and copy the plug-in into the standard folder for your system. Then rescan plug-ins in your DAW. The graphics travel inside the plug-in, so there is nothing else to copy.

Beta installers are not yet code-signed with a Windows certificate. If SmartScreen stops one, choose More info, then Run anyway. Each download page lists the file’s SHA-256, so you can check it first with Get-FileHash in PowerShell.

We count downloads. When you download an installer our server records the time, the file, your IP address and host name, and your browser’s identification string, and uses them only to see how many people try each plug-in and on what. Write to us and we will delete your entries.

02Registering

Drop the license on the plug-in.

Your license is a .psy file attached to your order email, one per plug-in. Open the plug-in in your DAW and drag the file onto its window. It is checked, copied into place and takes effect at once in every open copy. Demo reset files install the same way.

Or copy it by hand

Any file in this folder is read the next time the plug-in loads. Keep the files for several plug-ins side by side; the names do not matter.

Windows%LOCALAPPDATA%\MadPsyMusic\Licenses\
macOS~/Library/MadPsyMusic/Licenses/
Linux~/.local/share/MadPsyMusic/Licenses/
03“Please reinstall”

If the plug-in asks you to reinstall.

Each release checks that its own files are the ones we shipped. If they have been damaged or changed, it keeps working as an unregistered copy and its status line asks for a reinstall. Download the plug-in again, replace the old copy, and your license works as before.

Demo resets, by email

Trial ran out before you had a real chance? Email support@madpsymusic.com with the plug-in and your name. We send back a demo reset: a small file, made out to you, that reopens the full trial for two weeks. Install it like a license. One per plug-in every three months.

Lost license, by email

Email support@madpsymusic.com from the address you bought with, or tell us your order number, and we send your licenses again, to that address only.
